Racism and Bullying

At The Ridge Academy we are committed to supporting children from a range of cultures and backgrounds. We will not tolerate any behaviour that is prejudicial against people from different cultures or beliefs. When an incident happens the following procedure is followed:

  • The incident is recorded on the appropriate form and passed to the Senior Leadership Team
  • The Senior Leadership speak to the victim and perpetrator of the incident to ensure all details are correct
  • The Senior Leadership agree an appropriate consequence
  • The Principal speaks to the parents / carers of the victim and perpetrator to inform of the incident and the consequence that will be put in place for the perpetrator

Incidences of bullying and racism are reported to the Full Governing Body three times a year and the Governor responsible for Pupil Well-Being is Jamie Orpin who visits the Academy on a regular a basis to support the Senior Leadership Team in monitoring these incidences as well.
