Rainforest in Phoenix

posted 1 May 2016, 04:55 by Philippa Dancey
This week in Phoenix, we have continued with our Jungle story unit. We have finished creating actions for the rest of the "Slowly, Slowly, Slowly" said the Sloth story and we have then been able to create our own story map. Phoenix had some pictures which they cut out and had to sequence into the same order as the story. The boys really enjoyed doing this and used the actions to help remind them of the order of the story.

Phoenix class continued their unit in Geography, learning about the 4 different layers of the Rainforest. We watched a few clips about the rainforest and understood the different things that happen at each layer.

The boys also had a fantastic Music lesson this week, identifying the different instruments that are used to create music in the rainforest. The whole class really engaged in this activity and loved playing the different instruments!

Finally, on Thursday, Phoenix class went to The Palace Cinema in Cinderford to watch the new Jungle Book film with Lightning Bolts. The boys really enjoyed the film and could share their ideas ready for when they write their own Jungle story! They also enjoyed their popcorn treat!!!!
