The pupils in Elm class have lots of fun learning in all sorts of different ways.



Brazil - The World Cup

The World Cup!

The topic for Elm Class this term has been

‘The World Cup’.

In English, Elm class have created an on-going fact file of what the World Cup is all about. This has linked to their Creative Curriculum lessons, which Elm have really

enjoyed. Elm class have also focussed on ‘Letters’ this term. The children were able to write their own letters to Mr Evans at ‘The Butterfly Garden’ to say thank- you for all of his help with the different projects over the past year.

In Maths, Elm class have learnt how to measure a variety of objects. Elm have been able to measure objects accurately with a ruler and measure in centimetres and

metres. Elm also progressed onto measuring and comparing different lengths. Wow!

Finally, Elm class have enjoyed their swimming sessions over the past two terms. The children have been learning how to swim a width on their font and backs. Some children have also had the chance to swim across the pool in the deep end!  Elm have been

brilliant in these lessons and we hope this progress continues.

What a fantastic end to the year Elm! Keep it up next year!

Elm learnt all about what things can be recycled by helping out at school - sorting which bits of rubbish could be recycled and which bits couldn't.

Butterfly Garden - Ash and Elm

Ash and Elm have once more been back to the Butterfly Garden as part of their learning.  Here they have helped with the dismantling of video cassettes for recycling and planted up baby fir trees.
