The FIFA World Cup

Ash have enjoyed following the FIFA World Cup as our topic this term. The children have enjoyed using an atlas to locate where Brazil is, where the

countries that are in England’s group, the cities in Brazil where the football matches are to be played and other features about Brazil like the Amazon

River, the rainforest and the famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de

Janario.

The children have designed their own football kit, completed research into a famous football player and created a profile on them. They have conducted

research into the history of the World Cup and found out why in 1942 and 1946 there were no World Cup competitions.

In other areas of the curriculum the children have enjoyed swimming, playing Tag Rugby where some children represented the school and we could even have a future Tiger Woods on our hands with the Tri-Golf coaching sessions we had.

Mr Matthews, Mrs Barnes, Mrs Wicks and Mr Johannsson would like to say a big well done to all of Ash class for all of your effort this year.
