Cheltenham and District Athletics Competition

This summer the Ridge sent a selected team to represent the school in the Cheltenham and District Athletics Competition. Nearly all primary schools within Cheltenham and its surrounding area take part, with the event being split up into two sections with the small schools and large schools. The Ridge competed in the small schools competition.

Firstly, Shaun Moss and Ricky Smith took part in the field events of the cricket ball throw and standing jump. They competed to their best ability with both boys improving on their first throw and jump distances but unfortunately just out of the overall points scoring positions.

Secondly, the track events which took place at the Prince of Wales Stadium saw the following children take part:

- Dillano Pennant in the Year 3 Boys Sprint

- Cameron Parry in the Year 4 Boys Sprint

- Shaun Moss in the Year 5 Boys Sprint

- Lee Davies-Smith in the Year 6 Boys Sprint

- kian Overthrow in the Boys 600 metres

- Ricky Smith in the Boys 800 metres.

All of the boys performed brilliantly in their heat races but sadly just missed out on reaching the final race, except for Cameron Parry who won his heat and went into the final coming 5th overall.
